well, what looked like a great betting dead has fallen apart with the massive rainstorm at pimlico. the cards around the country are pretty scant, but hollywood's late night program has some interesting possibilities.
here goes.
race 1: bit of luck. obviously denied is the horse to beat, but his last race was better than looked as van rouge and cc lopez (hey cc, how's that new york weather treating you?) went gangbusters on the front end. the pace looks much softer in the opener tonight and you get one of the best turf jocks in the colony, david flores to dole out the fractions. gate to wire at 3/1?
race 6: Dream of Dashing. this one has burned an absolute ton of money in her career, but i like her chances in this hapless field. she's gotten a brief freshening from hendricks and she should show her best stuff in here.
ok, i lied. that's about it from hollywood. here are my simulcast plays...
Belmont Race 6: Favorite Sweep. this one looks like a horse on the improve and if i know javier, he'll have him in a good position from the rail. i'm worried that the other speed is drawn immediately outside of him, but in high gear looks to be riding around in reverse these days.
Race 9: Pasta Due. first time claimers and by rizzi out of a green dancer mare. love the breeding for the turf, but looks like jl espniza hasn't won a race in a long long time. i'd love it if castellano was on, but we'll settle for the bad jock and the good price. gate to wire?
